This pivotal role will oversee all aspects of our retail operations across key partners including ULTA, Sephora, and specialty retailers. The Director will drive retail sales, increase market share, and lead the development and execution of field and in-store strategies. This position requires a leader who is equally analytical and relationship-oriented, with a proven track record of building high-performing teams in the beauty and skincare industry.
ESSENTIAL REPONSIBILITIESSales & Business Development
- Own and deliver annual retail sales plans, including goals for new launches and core product categories.
- Increase brand rank and market share in brick-and-mortar retail accounts through effective field strategy and marketing collaboration.
- Partner on region-specific business strategies that support scalable, profitable growth.
- Develop by-door sales targets and tactical plans based on top-line objectives and regional performance.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing Field Sales team (Regional Sales & Training Managers, Account Coordinators).
- Create and maintain efficient call cycles and door visit strategies, prioritizing growth opportunities.
- Partner with HR, Education, and internal stakeholders to build infrastructure and tools that support and retain top field talent.
- Foster strong internal culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, and brand excellence.
Retail Execution & Operations
- Oversee execution of all corporate retail initiatives across the field, ensuring consistency and excellence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with retail partners, driving in-store visibility, education, and consumer engagement.
- Partner cross-functionally with Education, Marketing, and Supply Chain to support field and door-level needs.
- Track and manage retail budgets, including T&E, freelance support, and event activations.
Performance Management
- Conduct regular team check-ins, market visits, and performance reviews.
- Deliver timely and actionable business recaps, market feedback, and competitive insights to internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with visual merchandising and operational standards.
Sustainability Responsibility
Ensure all duties carried out and actions completed in every aspect of your role, contribute to the short and long-term Sustainability Goals set-forth by the ELEMIS – Climate, Biodiversity & People Pillars.
QUALIFICATIONS & CHARACTERISTICS
- Minimum 7 years of experience in the cosmetics/skincare industry with field sales leadership and account management experience.
- Proven success managing retail teams and growing presence across ULTA, Sephora, and specialty retail.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret data and turn insights into action.
- Demonstrated ability to create and execute strategic plans and consistently meet/exceed sales goals.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 75%, including overnight.
